history
The below properties are a summary of some of the projects Vantage Group has
been involved in over the last 13 years. We have completed over 150
property settlements as a group. We pride ourselves on establishing
sound, long term relationships with our clients, vendors, suppliers
and tenants.
9 Nelson Street
Vantage Group purchased 9 Nelson Street in 2008. The building had been left derelict for 6 years, but has now been rejuvenated, creating stunning character offices over two levels with onsite carparking. With sandblasted exposed timber trusses and beautiful concrete insitu walls with steel framed glazing and quality fittings, this space has truly been transformed into one of Auckland’s most striking workplaces. Being located at the base of Nelson Street, it certainly is in a desirable location, within walking distance of the Viaduct Harbour.
Drake Street Offices
Early in 2008 Vantage Group purchased the shell for our new offices on Drake Street in Freemans Bay. As we were working with a blank canvas, we were able to create a fit-out to meet our exact requirements. Working in conjunction with Fearon Hay Architects, we have created a fantastic work environment, relaxed yet formal. This project was completed in December 2008.
326 New North Road
326 New North Road was constructed in the 1930s, originally for a shoe manufacturing business. When Vantage Group purchased this historic property in October 2008 we immediately commenced demolition and intensive renovations. These works were fully complete in April 2009 and the property now provides our tenants with high spec, upmarket offices ranging in size from 120m² to 540m² over two levels. The property has high ceilings with exposed timber trusses, polished timber floors, designer kitchens and light fittings, and stoned tiled bathrooms, all accentuating its original character features. It now also has a piazza style courtyard for all to enjoy. This property has been retained as a long term investment.
28 Mackelvie Street
Purchased at the start of 2007 this property consists of two self
contained units featuring and open truss roof, polished floors and
concrete walls. This working environment sets itself apart from the rest.
With both levels containing approx 350m², a modern, functional office
space with character appeal was created. Working closely with the
Fearon Hay Architects and the Engineer, Vantage worked to give this
property a new lease on life as well as addressing a seismic upgrade of
the structure to ensure the end product can be enjoyed for years to come.
This property is positioned in the investment portfolio.

13 Barrys Point Road, Takapuna
A complex of 1970’s derelict workshops located in Takapuna was a
project too good to refuse. Purchased in 2006, the vision was
clear in creating an office/showroom studio complex for small trendy
businesses. The completion of this project in mid 2007 saw this
vision fulfilled creating six upmarket studios of sizes 80m² -
460m² which have been extensively modernized without sacrificing
any of the yesteryear appeal. This complex has been retained as
a long term investment.

Eglon Street, Parnell
Vantage purchased this Parnell industrial building late 2006. The
property contained 972m² of floor area and a vacant adjoining
site. A carpark structure was built on
the vacant site and the
building transformed into upmarket office/showroom space. An
associate company was approached, and the joint venture saw the
project professionally managed and two levels of office space leased
by this associate.
This property has been retained as a long term investment.

24 Wyndham Street, CBD
This property was purchased in late 2006 as a true redevelopment project.
Initial architectural concepts included additional floors and
conversion of the building into a modern office/retail structure.
Mindful of the character appeal of the building, value was added to
the property by implementing tenancy relocation and conducting an era
sensitive interior and exterior refurbishment programme to bring the
building back to its former glory. Special attention was made
to accentuate the kauri, exposed brick and other character features
that the structure possessed. Retained by Centro Investments.

96 New North Road, Eden Terrace
This property was purchased in 2003 from a CHH pension fund. Consisting
of 3110m² of office space the property was in need of a major
refurbishment to lease the vacant space. Value was added to the
building via modernisation and change of use of its ground floor to
Showroom, which in turn created full tenure. It sits within the
Centro portfolio as a long term rental property investment.

17 Lambie Drive, Manukau
Purchased in mid 2005 in a mortgagee sale, this large business park featuring
4700m² of office space was incomplete and featured a mixture of
partially leased floors and vacancy. A large scale modernisation and
refurbishment project saw the park transformed into an upmarket
business hub with full occupancy. Vantage also successfully
rectified all outstanding resource consent issues involved with the
property. In 2007 the complex was sold to an NZX listed trust.

George Street
An example of Vantage’s ability to think outside of the square is
shown with this property. Purchased in 2006, in conjunction with a
well established printing company, the project saw the revitalisation
of a tired 940m² warehouse/office building which was suffering
from apparent obsolescence. Value was added by a full interior
refurbishment and a specialised interior upgrade which provided
tailor made premises for the associated tenant. The end result was a
property that revised the standard in this locality and is proudly
held as an investment.

Beaumont Street - WS Laurie
2001 saw Vantage securing a corner site in Auckland’s Viaduct. The need
was to develop a building in keeping with urbanisation of the
precinct whilst also holding onto its traditional maritime ideals. A
design for retail premises that blended past and present saw it very
well received by potential tenants and an approach by WS Laurie saw
their ideal premises being built to suit.

School Road, Kingsland
In 2000 an ambitious acquisition of an entire estate of derelict
townhouses occurred. Identifying a need for affordable housing close
to the CBD the property was subdivided, providing each house its own
title and creating future development sections for additional
buildings. All houses were sold in a renovated state featuring
renovated interiors, landscaping, carports and new kitchens and
bathrooms. Security and privacy were provided to the community via
gates and access controls. It is a compliment that the complex is
still very tidy, with the owners achieving excellent capital growth.

3 Diamond Street, Eden Terrace
This three level office building located in the vibrant urban city fringe
suburb of Newton was purchased in December 2006. An immediate
exterior refurbishment saw the building transformed into a modern
aesthetically pleasing structure that attracted new national and
multinational tenants. This property is proudly positioned in the
investment portfolio.

15- 17 Huia Road, Otahuhu
At the time of purchase in 2005 this property consisted of five workshop units
used for a variety of automotive related trades. Upon achieving
vacant possession of the units, the units were individually upgraded
and fire rated. Each one was unit titled and offered to the market
as individual investments, or owner occupier premises. Project
completion occurred in six months.
